Nokia 8 REVEALED - High resolution images of new flagship Android smartphone LEAK online
PICTURES of the long-rumoured Nokia 8 smartphone have leaked online, here’s your first look of the new HMD handset.
High-resolution images of the Nokia 8 have been published online – revealing the design of the long-rumoured flagship handset for the first time.
Finnish startup HMD Global, which now builds devices under the Nokia brand name, resurrected a new line of Android-powered devices back in February.
The new range included a revamped Nokia 3310, which proved unbelievably popular with customers and sold-out in seconds.
However, Nokia 8 looks set to be the manufacturer’s first attempt at building a high-end flagship smartphone.
Nokia 8 is widely-tipped to be powered by a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 835 processor – the same chipset that powers the OnePlus 5 and Samsung Galaxy S8.
Elsewhere, the phone is expected to use Zeiss optics.
Nokia 8 looks set to ship with a dual-camera set-up
Based on the high-resolution renders tweeted by renown tipster Evan Blass earlier this week, it looks like HMD Global plans to introduce a dual-camera set-up on the rear of the phone.
This is a growing trend amongst high-end phones, with the likes of Huawei, OnePlus, LG and Apple incorporating a dual-camera to improve smartphone photography.
Following the leak by Evan Blass, HMD Global accidentally published a page on its Chinese website that mentioned the Nokia 8 and included same high-resolution renders.
HMD promptly removed any mention of Nokia 8 from its site – but a number of eagle-eyed fans managed to grab screenshots of the mistake.
The Chinese webpage for the Nokia 8 purportedly confirmed the device will boast a 2K display, and up to 6GB of RAM.
Sources speaking to WinFuture said the Nokia 8 will retail for somewhere around €600, around £535.
They also claimed the Nokia 8 will launch in Europe on July 31st 2017.
