WhatsApp down: Users furious as messaging app not working in UK and across world
MESSAGING app WhatsApp went down for users in the UK and across the world tonight.
Whatsapp reported as DOWN across Europe and UK
Social media users vented their fury after being unable to send or receive messages on the the iPhone and Android service.
WhatsApp went offline at around 6pm UK time, with issues reported in dozens of countries, most of them in Europe and Asia.
Around one billon people worldwide use the app, which was bought by Facebook in a multi-billion pound deal three years ago.

One Twitter user complained: "WhatsApp is always down at the most inconvenient times."
And Eleanor Nokes joked: "Don't worry you are still popular. It's just WhatsApp that's broken."
The issue was resolved for UK users at around 6:50pm, according to the website DownDetector, which tracks issues with apps and websites.
But people in other countries such as the US and Mexico are still believed to be having difficulties sending or receiving messages.

The popular messaging app is not working for users across Europe
WhatsApp last went down on May 3, in a widespread outage that left millions of people unable to access the messaging service.
A spokesperson for the app said: "Earlier today, WhatsApp users in all parts of the world were unable to access WhatsApp for a few hours.
"We have now fixed the issue and apologise for the inconvenience."
