Never mind the Nokia 3310, the company's next stunning device has been REVEALED
NEW NOKIA 9 is set to be the most powerful Nokia phone yet, report claims, with release date coming later this year.
Is this the next great Nokia 9 smartphone
After the success of the Nokia 3310, the company is now hard at work on its next device.
Reports of the new Nokia 9 smartphone first emerged last month, showing the company’s most advanced device to date as it goes after the flagship mobile market.
A new report has now unveiled more details about the new Nokia smartphone - and it could well be arriving very soon.
The news comes from NokiaPowerUser, which was sent information on the new Nokia 9 by an anonymous tipster.
This includes details on the price and release date for the first time.
The source says that the Nokia 9 will be officially revealed at the end of Q3 2017 - meaning a possible launch around July/August.
The device would then go on sale later in 2017, with a rumoured price of €749/$699 - around £637.
The Nokia 9 will be the company's most powerful device yet
The delay is thought to be down to a shortage in supply of the Snapdragon 835 processor that is set to power the device.
This would make the Nokia 9 the most powerful Nokia phone to date, with the new chip backed up by several more premium components.
The device is rumoured to come with a 5.5in QHD OLED display, putting on a level with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6.
There’s also 6GB of RAM, and a choice of 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, all powered by a huge 3,800mAh battery.
The reimagined Nokia 3310 is out and is as indestructible as ever
The Nokia 9 is also expected to pack a hugely powerful camera, with reports suggesting a 22MP dual-lens Carl Zeiss sensor on the rear and a 12MP sensor on the front.
The front-facing camera will also include an iris scanner to allow for speedy unlocking and authentication, with a fingerprint scanner on the rear for extra security.
Running Android 7.1.2 Nougat, the Nokia 9 may also be the first smartphone to feature the company’s “Nokia OZO audio” system, which offers a range of sound enhancements.
Nokia has yet to comment on the report, so we’ll have to wait and see exactly what the company has in store.
