Amazon accidentally sold the LG G4 for 1p on Prime Day
IT TURNS out the biggest discount of the day was a mistake.
The LG G4 got an unplanned £490 discount during the Amazon Prime Day sales
Amazon yesterday slashed prices across its online store to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
The 24hour sales event – dubbed Amazon Prime Day – saw hundreds of items discounted every hour.
But the biggest discount of the day was an unplanned pricing error which dropped the latest LG flagship smartphone to $0.01.
The LG G4 – which we praised for its eye-wateringly sharp display and staggering camera – usually sells for some $600 (or £490) on the US online retailer.
Reddit users quickly shared the unplanned £490 discount.
Just ordered it. If I actually get this this is the best sale ever
One Reddit user posted: "I bought 4, and it cost me 4 cents. I'm going to check it tomorrow to see any changes and if I need to cancel. FINGERS CROSSED!"
"Just ordered it. If I actually get this this is the best sale ever," another added.
Amazon – most likely prompted by a sudden surge of interest in the LG G4 – quickly spotted the error and has removed the $0.01 price.

Reddit users have also complained that the online store is refusing to honour the pricing error.
One posted a quote from an email allegedly from Amazon: "We're writing to let you know that, due to an error in our pricing systems, we unfortunately could not honour your order.
"Consequently, your order has been canceled.
"We sincerely apologise for this error and any inconvenience it may have caused.
"You will not be charged for the items canceled."
