CONSOLE WAR: PS4 now available for less than £300 as Xbox One drops in price
RETAILERS are going head-to-head in the run up to Christmas, offering cut-price deals for the PS4 and Xbox One.
The Playstation 4 can currently be bought for £299.97
The Playstation 4 is now being offered as the lowest price console, with US retailer Gamestop offering UK buyers the chance to snap up the Sony product for just £299.97.
The Glacier White received a price drop of £30 in the lead up to the festive period, coming with a matching Dualshock controller and cables.
Other retailers, including Amazon and Game are currently selling the black PS4 for £329.86 and £349.
The deal runs for as long as stocks last and is first to offer a next-gen device for under £300.
The Xbox One meanwhile is currently being offered at the £309 price mark by online sellers Zaavi.com with delivery included.
Zaavi also offer a white Xbox One bundle, including Sunset Overdrive, for £334.
Sony have also announced the launch of their new PlayStation TV device will take place on November 15th.
The tech giant is also getting ready to launch a new 2.01 system update to help ease problems encountered by players using Rest Mode on their PS4.
Revealing the news on Twitter, the Playstation team wrote: "PS4 software update v2.01 is coming soon, and will address issues some users have encountered when powering on the system from Rest Mode."
