Twitter set to shut down Tweetdeck apps for Facebook and iPhone, Android, AIR devices
SOCIAL networking giant Twitter have announced plans to discontinue smart phone apps for Tweetdeck and make the popular service web-based only.
In a blog post the company revealed apps for Facebook along with services for iPhone, Android and AIR devices will begin to be shut down from May.
The microblogging service said they will focus on developing the program, which allows users to organise when to send tweets, for modern browsers.
The San Francisco based company said: "We’re excited about what the future holds. We hope you are too."
British startup company TweetDeck was bought by Twitter in 2011 for £25 million.
