Get Samsung's Z Flip 7 £350 cheaper before new Galaxy launch

Samsung has confirmed it will launch new foldable phones on Wednesday, July 22, with a new version of the Z Fold series heavily rumoured to be unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked. It’s also very likely that we will see the launch of a new flip-style foldable too - which means it’s a great time to shop for the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Released in July 2025, the Z Flip 7 is still Samsung’s most advanced flip phone to date, and right now you can get it SIM-free from EE for £699, a huge £350 saving on the £1,049 retail price.

EE says this is a “limited time offer” but doesn’t say when the deal will end. With Samsung set to release what will likely be the Z Flip 8 in the coming days, it could be a price that doesn’t stick around for long.

The Z Flip 7 remedies some of the flaws of earlier Z Flip models by having an expansive cover display that lets users open whole apps without flipping open the phone, and packs in the largest battery yet for the series with a 4,300mAh cell. This can be charged at up to 25W, but there’s no charger in the box. The phone can also charge wirelessly at 15W speeds.

Its inner screen is also larger than ever at 6.9-inches, meaning the draw of getting flip foldable is very attractive for those that want to halve the size of their large screen phone before putting it in their pocket.

For an even cheaper flip alternative, the Motorola Razr 60 is currently on sale for £499.99. It has the same size 6.9-inch internal screen, IP48 rating and same 188g weight, though it is less powerful with a Mediatek Dimensity 7400X chip. For a flip, that price is hard to beat, though.

The Z Flip 7 also boasts IP48 dust and water resistance, so it might survive an accidental dunking, plus it comes with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM to keep things ticking over nicely when several apps are running at once. Dual cameras are led by a 50MP main shooter and a 12MP ultrawide, with a 10MP selfie lens inside for photos and video calls.

A downside to a folding phone is the inherently fragile inner display. Made from parts including a plastic top layer, it means it can technically be permanently dented from a fingernail or other intrusive object. Samsung has improved durability over the years, but it’s still something to bear in mind.

Express.co.uk’s technology editor Dave Snelling reviewed the Z Flip 7 on its release and awarded it four-and-a-half stars, praising its cover screen, battery and overall fun factor.

“If you’ve been thinking about joining the Flip revolution, then this is a good year to invest,” he said.

“The dual-lens cameras remain decent enough, though note there’s no telephoto lens for quality zoom snaps, and you can still do all of the cool things that come with owning a Z Flip device, such as prop it up to take selfies and bend it so it feels like an old-fashioned camcorder.”

However, he warned that it does not have the high-end Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, instead opting for Samsung’s own Exynos 2500. This shouldn’t matter to many, but those after the best specs for mobile gaming may want to look elsewhere.

Snelling’s other criticism was the £1,049 price, which is nicely remedied by EE’s sale price of £699.

This puts the Z Flip 7 cheaper than the £799 iPhone 17, £799 Pixel 10 and £879 Samsung Galaxy S26. Smartphone shoppers who have been mulling the jump to a foldable for their next device probably won’t find a better price than this.
