If you have a Hisense TV in your living room, it might be worth checking your settings. It's been confirmed that some screens are now getting access to the popular Spotify app, which will turn televisions into a mini jukebox. Spotify access is something Samsung screens have had for a while, so this update now brings these rival googleboxes fully up to speed. With this music application installed, subscribers can listen to over 100 million tracks from the world’s best artists, along with millions of podcasts, playlists, videos, and albums directly from their screens.

Hisense says it has added Spotify to keep pace with the change in streaming habits. These continue to evolve with music and podcast consumption on large screens now growing rapidly. That's due to more and more consumers using Smart TVs as shared entertainment devices beyond traditional video viewing.

It's a useful upgrade from Hisense, but how do you know if you can now get your playlists booming out of these speakers?

The company says the boost is coming to all VIDAA-powered TVs - that's the latest smart operating system, which is loaded onto most new Hisense devices.

Speaking about the boost, Rob Andrews, Head of Strategy and Go-To-Marketing at Hisense UK commented: “It’s no secret that smart TVs are becoming the hub for home entertainment with consumers increasingly turning to the big screen for streaming their favourite content. Launching Spotify on all Hisense VIDAA-powered TVs provides our customers with direct access to one of the world’s leading audio streaming platforms and all the content they love. The introduction of the platform allows us to continue expanding our home entertainment offering and improve at home entertainment experiences.”

And Ian Geller, VP Business Development, Spotify, added: “At Spotify, we want to be everywhere our listeners are – ensuring that your audio and video content moves seamlessly with you throughout your day, whether you're on the go, or relaxing at home. By launching on VIDAA-powered Smart TVs, we’re expanding our reach into millions of households worldwide, giving both new and existing users seamless access to millions of songs, podcasts, and videos.”

Spotify has now rolled out across most parts of the globe and can be accessed directly from the VIDAA app store and home screen.
