Encanto on Disney+ release date and how YOU can watch at the lowest price
ENCANTO is the latest film to release on Disney+ over the Christmas period. Here's everything you need to know to watch on the streaming service.
Walt Disney is bringing its latest animated feature-film Encanto to Disney+ today – less than a month after it arrived in multiplexes across the UK, so that families can stream together over Christmas. The musical, which features original songs composed by Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, follows young Colombian Mirabel Madrigal (Stephanie Beatriz) who has to confront the frustration of being the only member of her family without magical abilities. If you want to watch Encanto following its release on the streaming service, you'll need to have a subscription to Disney+, which starts from £7.99 a month (although you can drop that price down if you buy an annual plan upfront).
Unlike some recent launches, like Black Widow and Jungle Cruise, which cost extra to watch – there's no additional charge for Encanto.
Disney+ is available on a vast number of devices, including iPhone, Android, iPad, Sky Q, Fire TV, Roku, Chromecast with Google TV, games consoles like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X, Smart TVs from Samsung, plus dozens more. And that's a very good thing too as each Disney+ subscription can be used on a maximum of four devices at the same time – so younger viewers can watch an animated classic from Walt Disney Pictures on a tablet, while teenagers binge-watch The Mandalorian on a games console, and older viewers can watch films like Die Hard or series like Dopesick on the living room television.
Up to seven different profiles can be created, with unique recommendations based on the viewing history on that profile. Disney+ also lets parents and guardians set strict guidelines about what content can be accessed from each profile. You can add a PIN to stop younger viewers jumping into your profile to binge-watch something inappropriate while you're out of the house too.
