Hyperoptic offers breathtakingly fast broadband at HALF the cost of Virgin Media and BT
GET ACCESS to gigabit full-fibre broadband speeds for around the same cost that BT Broadband charges for 150Mbps.
Hyperoptic has slashed the price of its 1,000Mbps broadband bundle, dubbed Hyperfast, down to £35 a month. This gigabit-capable connection ensures you'll never have to worry about buffering – no matter how many people are in your house streaming boxsets, backing up photos, making video calls, and scrolling through social media. Better yet, there's no activation fee and no installation cost to worry about.
The average home broadband speed in the UK, measured earlier this year, is around 70Mbps. Hyperoptic's Hyperfast bundle is 14x faster. Both Virgin Media and BT offer similar speeds in certain areas across the UK.
However, both of these broadband firms charge significantly more for the privilege. BT usually charges £59.99 a month for the same speed, although an ongoing offer means you'll be able to unlock the same speeds for £54.99 a month (with the first three months slashed in half to £27.49 a month).
Both BT and Hyperoptic will sign-up new customers to 24-month contracts, if you decide to opt for BT you'll be paying £1,237.26 over the course of that two-year period, while Hyperoptic customers will be charged £840.
But what about Virgin Media? The broadband firm was one of the first companies to launch gigabit-capable connections across the UK and currently offers its speedy full-fibre internet for £62 a month with a £35 set up fee. Virgin Media only signs-up customers for an 18-month contract, so users will be able to check out the latest deals on the market a little sooner than those with BT and Hyperoptic connections at home.
Over the course of an 18-month contract, Virgin Media customers will be charged £1,151. That's £311 more than Hyperoptic customers will be charged for 24-months connected to these ludicrously fast speeds.
Is there a catch? Well, sort of. While Virgin Media's gigabit-capable fibre broadband is available to more than 10 million homes nationwide, Hyperoptic's equivalent speeds can only be found in around over half a million homes and businesses across the UK, with plans to reach two million houses by the end of next year.
But there's no doubt that if you're lucky enough to live in a street with Hyperoptic cables buried beneath your feet... it has some unbelievable deals.
