Co-operative bank down? Frustrated users unable to access mobile app and online banking
HUNDREDS of Co-operative Bank customers have flooded social media with complaints about issues logging in to the mobile banking app, which is available on Android and iPhone. The bank has acknowledged the fault, which is preventing customers checking account balances, transferring money, and more.
Update: The Co-operative Bank has now confirmed that any issues with its online and mobile banking system have now been resolved. Anyone who was unable to check their account earlier due to the issues should now be able to login as usual.

Hundreds of Co-operative Bank customers are struggling to access their bank account using the mobile banking app and online portal. The app, which is available on iPhone and Android, allows customers to check their account balance, set up standing orders, and transfer money between accounts, and more. Online banking, accessed via a web browser from a desktop PC, is also impacted by the same issues, with customers being prevented from logging in – despite the correct password.
Those who are struggling to log in to the Co-operative Bank have flooded social media to complain about the problems with the smartphone app. Responding to individual complaints on Twitter, the customer care team at the Co-Op Bank have acknowledged the problems. “I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused, we are working hard to restore services as quickly as we can,” the social media team replied to one frustrated customer.

Co-operative Bank provide online banking tips for smartphone users
According to independent service Down Detector, which monitors the performance of web apps and online services by monitoring public social media posts about any issues, there are hundreds of Co-operative customers across the UK right now struggling to check their accounts, send money to colleagues and family.
The issues appear to have started around 3pm BST. One hour on, some customers seem to be able to access their account, others continue to flag issues on social media.
