Hotmail block: How to block an email address in Hotmail
HOTMAIL is now Outlook, injecting a new lease of life to the veteran email platform. Because some emails are occasionally unwelcome, Outlook users have a helpful ability to block an email address - here is how to do it.
Gmail: How to improve the security of your account
Hotmail morphed in Outlook in 2013 by developer Microsoft, offering an updated aesthetic and intuitive interface for managing emails. However, an increasing number of people using email comes a downside: unsolicited and unwelcome emails.
Although the majority of emails are welcome, some are spam or simply just welcome.
These include newsletters you do not remember registering with or you encounter a contact who all-too-frequently forwards emails.
Fortunately, these emails can easily be blocked to avoid such messages in the future.
Express.co.uk explains the straightforward steps you can take to block an email address in Outlook.

How to block an email address in Outlook:
Outlook email users can set up a rule to automatically delete all messages from a specific sender.
This also has the consequence of removing all existing messages from the same sender.
begin by opening a message from the sender you intend to block.
Next, click the Sweep button found in the Outlook Mail toolbar.
You will have to confirm Delete All Messages From Inbox Folder and Any Future Messages is selected on the pop-up sheet.
Outlook will proceed to move all messages from the address or addresses in the current folder.
However, the same cannot be said of emails in other folders, such as an Archive Folder.
Emails from contacts on your blocked senders list will, from now on, be trashed without notice.
Neither you nor the sender will be notified, and the messages will never appear in your Deleted or Junk folders.

How to unblock a sender in Outlook:
In the Outlook menu bar select Tools, then Junk Email Preferences.
If Junk Email Preferences is greyed-out, your email account may be hosted by Exchange.
On the Blocked Senders tab, select the email address or domain you wish to unblock and choose Remove the selected sender button.
Users can also unblock a sender on Exchange based accounts, such as work email accounts hosted by Exchange.
For those accounts, junk mail filtering is handled on the Exchange server and is not a client option.
How to block domains in Outlook:
Microsoft Outlook can also migrate all messages from an email domain to the Trash.
Begin by clicking the settings gear icon in Outlook on the web.
Next, click on Block or Allow in the left-hand pane under Accounts.
Enter the domain you want to block into the Blocked domains section.
For example, if you are receiving unwanted mail from someone at ABC Company, and the domain name on the message is reach.com, then you can enter reach.com into that text box.
Then click Add and then select Save to add the email domain to your blocked list.
