FACEBOOK is a fantastic way to keep in touch with friends and family around the world. But is it safe to login to your Facebook account on a shared computer while on holiday?

Despite the constant warnings on the importance of online security, many remain rather lax about it.
And this is especially true when we head off on holiday.
One major security risk is staying logged in to our Facebook accounts when using a shared computer.
This could leave you vulnerable to criminals accessing your intimate data.
It’s an easy mistake to make – using multiple devices in numerous locations makes it tricky to keep track of where and when we've logged into what.
But there are ways to learn if others have accessed your account.
Once logged into Facebook on any device select Settings – Security – Where you’re logged on.
This can be edited, allowing you to check the locations you logged onto across all devices.
You will also be able to check whether your account was accessed via a laptop, phone or tablet.
And it even reveals the IP address, allowing you learn the location of the device and when it was used to log into your account.
And if something gives you cause for concern, there’s a way to prevent unwanted logins.
Simply select the End activity option to end that session.
On a phone, you just need to tap the “X” next to each session.
You can also set up login alerts which notify you whenever your account is accessed.
Select Settings – Security – Login Alerts to set up these notifications.
And an additional level of approval can be added.
Select Settings – Security – Login Alerts – Approvals, to set up an additional login step that sends login codes to your phone when you log into a new machine.
