It is up for auction on March 2 with Birmingham-based property auctioneers Pennycuick Collins. The price means a considerable profit for owners the Tipper family.

Eric Tipper and his wife Winifred paid just £11,000 for it in 1969. Eric died in 2002 and Winifred died last year aged 96.

It is being sold by their son John, 61, who said: “It was a lovely family home. I wish I could keep it but I’ve got my own house and family and I don’t have the means.
“I hope whoever buys it appreciates the unique flavour, it is just lovely.”
