Beatle Sir Paul's old Liverpool home is sold for £150k at auction
THE former home in Liverpool of ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney has sold for £150,000 at an auction in the city’s Cavern Club.

An unnamed bidder from Merseyside paid £50,000 over the guide price.
The property in Speke was home to Paul and his parents Jim and Mary for six years until the mid-1950s.
Seen by some as the ultimate piece of Fab Four memorabilia, the three-bedroom house attracted interest from Beatles fans around the world.
Paul was four when the family moved in and he has said it is the first house he can remember living in.

Andrew Brown, of Countrywide Property Auctions, said: “We’re delighted to have sold such an iconic piece of The Beatles’ and Liverpool’s history.”
It is not the first Beatles property to go under the hammer.
John Lennon’s childhood home in Newcastle Road, Liverpool, was sold in 2013 for £450,000.
