Stop scrubbing your air fryer as the grease ‘melts away’ in 5 minutes with 1 powerful item
While easy to use, air fryers can be tricky to clean properly, particularly the basket, which is the greasiest part. It's essential to select a method that not only functions effectively but also safeguards the coating, ensuring your fryer remains operational for years to come.

To ensure each meal is as delicious and nutritious as possible, it's crucial to keep your air fryer clean. This will also prolong its lifespan and avoid sending your energy bills soaring.
Instead of resorting to traditional scrubbing techniques to clean her air fryer basket, one Mrs Hinch fan sought a simpler solution. Yvonne De Burgo posed a question on the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page: “Any tips on cleaning the solid metal basket in my Ninja air fryer that also roasts, bakes, and dehydrates. Please don’t suggest plain elbow grease, as I am elderly and disabled, so my elbow grease has disappeared.”

Rather than suggesting the old-fashioned elbow grease method, i.e. scrubbing, group members recommended using the Elbow Grease All-Purpose Degreaser spray.
Sarah Wicks said, “When I came to the UK, I thought elbow grease was just working harder. Now I’ve discovered that Elbow Grease is a product, and it's amazing for this job.”
Patricia Skelton shared: “We found it hard to get grease off the walls of our air fryer at first. We bought some Elbow Grease solution, and then it all just melted away.”
Brenda Close advised: “I buy a bottle of Elbow Grease from Poundland, it's brilliant for cleaning stubborn, stuck-on food from anything and everything.”
Craig Williams added: "Elbow Grease is powerful and amazing for getting rid of grease off of stuff, and it’s cheap as chips.
“I always found the air fryer basket had a film of grease after washing. Now I use that product and no film is left at all.”
Carrie Rapson, sharing a photo of the Elbow Grease spray, advised: “Spray on, leave for five minutes, and then wipe off.”
However, other Mrs Hinch fans stated their preference for simply using hot water and washing up liquid to clean their air fryers.
Shirley Sutcliffe suggested: “Soak in boiling water with dishwashing liquid and use a sink brush to clean while water is still hot - not much effort required, just did mine.”
Carol Jones commented: “I do mine after each use, so it's easy to clean. Just hot water, washing up liquid and a pan scrubber.”
Trish Clark countered: “It's non-stick, so you don't need scouring. Just soak it in hot soapy water each time you use it, and just wipe it down to dry.”
