A cleaning influencer has shared her super quick tip to ensure water marks are removed off your taps and also how to ensure they stay that clean in the future. In our modern and busy lives, finding nifty, quick, and easy hacks to help keep our homes tidy and smelling great is all the rage. But what a lot of people don't know is that candles can also provide another service and help with keeping water marks at bay.

Pouring a small amount of the candle wax directly onto your taps, then gently wiping it off with some warm water and you will have bright-looking taps without the pesky water marks present. This handy tip works effectively as the candle wax creates a thin, water-repellent layer on the surface of your taps.

This further prevents water directly contacting the tap and later forming any visible water spots.

In a TikTok video, @anna_louisa_at_home shares her top five favourite home hacks.

She says one of her favourites is to use this candle wax tip to help her bathroom tap look cleaner for longer.

By using candle wax, water beads up and simply rolls off the metallic surface thanks to the wax barrier built up preventing mineral deposits or stains from forming.

Kezia Reynolds from Ideal Home tried the hack at home, and she said: “The whole process took at most 15 minutes as I was also impressed with how cheap it was.”

It will keep them smelling fresh. Just add an extra spray when you notice the smell wearing off. Rub candle wax on your taps and buff it in with a cloth to prevent water marks for longer. The water runs straight off! 3. Deodorise and clean your washing machine drum by cutting a lemon in half, removing the seeds and squeezing a swirl of toothpaste on both before throwing them in the washing machine on a quick cycle. 4. Fill a spray bottle half way with water and add 20 drops of peppermint oil. Spiders and insects dislike the smell of peppermint so spray this around windows and doors to keep them out. 5. Deep clean your cloths by adding them to an old saucepan of water (make sure its not too full or it will bubble over. Sprinkle in 1/2 cup - 1 cup of bicarbonate of soda (depending on the size of the saucepan. Boil for 15 minutes before letting cool and rinsing with cold water. Wash with your usual detergent on a quick wash cycle and allow to air dry. Disclaimer: this method is for cotton cloths as it can shrink microfibre cloths but I personally didnt notice this using this method. . . #cleaninghacks #cleaningtips #cleaningmotivation #instaclean #cleaningaccount
