There's nothing more irritating than a clogged drain at home, especially in the kitchen.

When the water starts to disappear more slowly, it can be difficult to know how to deal with the problem without calling out a plumber.

Not only is a blocked sink a nightmare to look at, but it can also lead to some pretty unpleasant smells around the home, so it's important to deal with it as quickly as possible.

And according to one cleaning pro on TikTok, all you need to do this is three simple ingredients that you've probably already got in your cupboards at home

Summer Homayed, a mum and content creator with more than 411k followers, says the trick is 'so satisfying' and it couldn't be any easier to do.

Clogging sink fault, water does not drain

In a helpful video, she detailed exactly how to banish your blocked sink and allow the water to drain freely again using three simple staple products.

She said: "Here's a life hack that anyone with a clogged sink can appreciate."

To start, all you need to do is grab some baking soda and pour it down and around your blocked plughole, before following it with 'plenty of salt'.

Then, add a few cups of vinegar to the mix, and watch the magic happen.

The cleaning solution will start to foam up which looks 'so satisfying'. Once the mixture has been left to fizzle away for 15 minutes, there's one final step that works wonders to get rid of any clogs.

Summer said: "Now watch as we break down that build-up in your clogged drain."

To do this, you'll need to boil up a kettle full of water, and once it has very slightly cooled down, pour it down the sink to flush out the baking soda mixture.

Showing off her sink which was now draining at a normal pace, Summer said: "Isn't it magical? Your clogged drain is gone."

But don't just take her word for it - countless people in the comments agreed that it was a hugely effective tip that had saved their sinks from those irritating blockages.

One person said: "This worked great!" while another added: "Totally worked."

"Thank you!! Just tried this and it worked!" echoed another.
