The oven door glass is often the most noticeable spot where your oven collects grime, and cleaning it can be a challenging task that risks damaging the surface if not done correctly.

This chore is usually one of the more tedious household tasks, especially when dealing with stubborn food stains and grease splatters that accumulate during cooking.

Rather than relying solely on dish soap or a baking soda and vinegar mix, a new, easier method has been discovered by a cleaning enthusiast.

Kelly Jayne Gill shared her cleaning breakthrough on the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page.

She posted before-and-after photos of her oven glass—initially covered in stubborn stains, then sparkling clean after using a particular product.

Kelly revealed her secret: “Yeah my oven door covered in filthy stains. Didn’t realise I could take the glass out, anyway look at this. Elbow Grease and warm water. Bloody brilliant stuff.”

She explained that she simply sprayed the cleaner on, waited five minutes, and wiped it off with a regular sponge.

Her oven door, which had two small screws for removal, was transformed effortlessly.

For those with different oven door setups, she noted that some doors slide out or have clips for easy removal.

To ensure you clean the glass between your oven’s door panels effectively, it’s a good idea to consult your oven's manual for specific instructions on accessing the glass.

If you no longer have the manual, you can easily find it online by searching for your oven’s brand and model.

When asked where to purchase the Elbow Grease spray from, Kelly explained there were a few options - and they are all very affordable.

She said: “I got mine from Poundland, but Savers, Home Bargains and B&M all usually have it from around 89p to £1.20.”
