DIY expert shares job you should ‘never’ attempt or risk ‘big explosive reaction’
Many people attempt DIY jobs in the summer months, but according to a DIY expert, there are certain jobs which Britons should "never" attempt themselves.
Simple tasks like putting up shelves or hanging picture frames can be done by pretty much anyone, but others come with danger.
According to Joshua Houston, DIY expert at Household Quotes, certain areas should be left to professionals or Britons risk causing serious damage.
The expert explained that although tree removal may sound like a simple task, doing so without the experience and knowledge, can be extremely dangerous.
Joshua explained: “This is a significant risk to not only yourself but also the people, homes and vehicles surrounding you.
“It could leave you with a hefty bill if you were to cause any damage. Calling a professional tree surgeon is the best way to go about this, as they’ll have the experience to remove the tree safely.”

Anything to do with gas is an “absolute no-no” when it comes to DIY, as you do need to be on the Gas Safe Register if you are to attempt to carry out gas work in the home.
If this isn’t done properly, it can be a real danger to yourself and others around you. It may result in a gas leak which when met with a spark, causes a “big explosive reaction”.
Breathing in gas can also cause serious health issues such as dizziness, shortness of breath, headaches, nausea and chest pains.
Joshua also advised against removing wildlife from your home which can occasionally enter during the summer months.

He noted: “This can be a nightmare for the occupier as the invader can steal food and bring nasty bacteria into the house.
“Not only this, but wildlife is known to cause damage by eating through walls and floorboards which can become expensive for the homeowner to repair.
“However you should think twice before removing any animal, some are protected and by law require a professional.
“Failing to adhere to this could potentially result in a fine, contact Wildlife Management and Licensing at Natural England for advice.”
Other jobs Britons should never attempt include electrical work, demolition, fixing leaks and removing asbestos. The DIY expert concluded: “When something is broken in or around our homes, our urge is to get it fixed as soon as possible.
“For a lot of people, that means they want to do it themselves. This can be a great way to save money, as labour costs for a professional are often extortionate.
“However, certain jobs require that extra professional eye, as without it, it can cause severe damage to your property and be dangerous to yourself and those around you.
“Don’t try to save money on potentially dangerous parts of your home, gas and electricity specifically can easily kill someone who is not properly trained.”
It may also cost households a lot more money in the long run if something does end up going wrong.
