Property: Postcodes where the most homes have sold in 2021 - is yours in the top 10?
THE PROPERTY market has been booming in England and Wales with almost 200,000 transactions being successfully completed since the start of 2021. But which postcodes have had the most homes sold in 2021 so far?
New research has found that London, Brighton, Bristol, Dorset, Leicestershire and Nottingham have all seen a spike in property market activity so far in 2021. These areas are all home to postcodes that rank within the top 10 for the most property transactions so far in 2021. National estate agent, Keller Williams UK, has unveiled the top 10 property market postcodes that have had the most transactions in 2021.
The estate agency looked at transactions for postcodes since the start of the year.
Surprisingly, London doesn’t take the top spot and is only featured once in the top 10.
Other areas in the South East and Midlands have dominated, leaving London trailing behind.
In England and Wales, 197,041 transactions have been successfully completed since the start of 2021 with Croydon’s CR0 postcode seeing the highest number of sales.

The postcode has had 425 sales take place, with Brighton and Hove’s BN3 postcode coming in close second with 395 sales.
CR0 is located on the outskirts of London near Mitcham, Sutton, Streatham and Bromley.
The postcode includes New Addington, Addiscombe, part of Thornton Heath and Selhurst.
The area has great transport links to central London but is also close to picturesque Surrey.

Seaside locations have become more popular this year as homeowners continued to work from home away from city offices.
So it’s not surprising that three Brighton postcodes would make it into the top 10 with BN1 in Brighton and Hove/Lewes coming in fourth place and BN2 coming in seventh place.
E17 in Waltham Forest in northeast London is the only location in the capital to make it onto the list with 371 transactions.
The BS16 postcode straddling Bristol and South Gloucestershire is the next hottest property postcode with 345 homes sold.

Another seaside spot BH23, this time on the south coast near Christchurch in Dorset, also performed strongly with 337 transactions.
Leicestershire’s LE12 (310) and LE3 (295) postcodes also make the list of 2021’s busiest property markets.
The list was completed with the NG5 postcode in Nottingham which saw 290 homes sold so far this year.
Previous research from Keller Williams UK, found that residential property sales have hit a staggering £68.8billion in value.
CEO of Keller Williams UK, Ben Taylor, said it’s “impressive” to see such a “vast” regional spread of property postcodes on the list.
He explained: “We’ve heard a lot in recent months about how the stamp duty holiday has led to a huge uplift in property sales and while this is generally true, some areas will have seen a far greater number of homes sold than others.
“Nowhere more so than these property postcode hotspots and it’s impressive to see such a vast regional spread with the list comprising of areas in London, the South West and the Midlands.
“That’s not to say that other regions aren’t putting in a strong performance and there’s no denying the impact of the stamp duty holiday has been felt pretty much across the board.”
