The team were hosting Tamworth FC at the Grove in their Birmingham Senior Cup tie last night with 216 fans in attendance.
Halesowen Town progressed to the next round thanks to a goal from Matthew Burley - but the win is not the reason they have since found fame online.
The team’s Twitter account tweeted when they scored 54 minutes into the game.
Sadly their excitement at the goal caused a very amusing typo.
They wrote: “54’ 0-0 Delaney shoots wife after Anderson feeds him the ball #HALvTAM”.
The mistake was quickly rectified on the account, but it was too late and the tweet went viral, with over 7,000 retweets and likes.
Commenters responded to the mistake, and one said: “There’s no place for this in #NonLeague football…”
Another said: “Is that a sending off offence or not?”
Halesowen Town FC tweeted this during their match - and it quickly went viral
One joked: “Bit over the top…”
The team responded to the mistake, and said: “Cannot confirm that Ethan Delaney has a wife, but I’m sure she’s fine if he has.”
The football tweet has gone viral as another Twitter typo hit the headlines yesterday.

Their fanfare soon ended in disappointment after the new arrival went viral for all the wrong reasons.
A shopper in the area saw the banner outside the new store but noticed the glaring mistake.
On the sign, Lidl wrote: “Opens 3th November, Thursday, 8am.”
