‘I thought I was going to die’: Man left PARALYSED after being attacked by pet SCORPION
THE FATHER lost part of his stomach and his pancreas after the deadly sting.
The father-of-two lost part of his stomach and was paralysed by the sting
It’s not exactly a household animal.
But Dean Armstrong had lovingly cared for and fed his pet, Sue, for years.
The problem is, Sue is a scorpion.
Dean had been feeding the deadly creature in August 2012 when it attacked him, and his body was filled with potentially fatal poison.
Shockingly, Dean bought another pet scorpion a year ago and said 'I don't bear a grudge on them'
The father from Cambridge woke up in hospital feeling ‘like he’d had a stroke’.
Dean said: “When I was stung I felt fear for the first time. I thought I was going to die.
“But being told I had a colostomy bag didn't bother me. I'm quite an optimist.
“I was just happy to be alive.”
Dean has spoken of his support for the Colostomy Association
