An adorable dog is on the hunt for a new home in the UK after being overlooked by all potential owners. Poor Goofy, a Great Dane cross, was rescued earlier this year by Miracle's Mission, an animal welfare organisation that aids sick, injured, and disabled animals globally.

The one-year-old, currently residing in the UAE but ready to travel to the UK, has been dubbed a "playful, gentle giant". A statement reads: "Goofy is a little over a year and a half old, a large-sized sweetheart with an even bigger heart. Though his size might make you think he's tough, he's truly a gentle giant through and through.

"He adores people and gets along beautifully with dogs of all kinds, even those smaller than him. His happiness is contagious he lights up the moment he meets someone new! He has passed street cats on a leash and actively avoids them even if encouraged to approach."

While Goofy loves children, the charity warns that he might become too excited around them, causing him to jump up at them. Introductions should be supervised until he becomes accustomed to his new family's routine.

Goofy walks well on a leash and relishes his time outdoors, always keen to explore and play. He's affectionate, cuddly, and full of life, the kind of dog who will transform every ordinary moment into a memory filled with laughter and love. He is on the lookout for a "young, joyful companion" who can shower him with affection and loyalty.

The statement adds: "Goofy is your boy. All he needs is a family willing to give him that one chance to show just how much love his big heart can hold. Goofy is ready to travel and must go to the UK before January 26."

Tragically, when his rehoming appeal was posted on Facebook, he received just one comment expressing interest. It read: "Is he a calm confident boy? I have a female medium size from Romania but she is quite shy and timid she is three and a half."

Established in 2015, Miracle's Mission has been working tirelessly to "provide a place of safety for animals in danger, to educate on the needs of neutering both pets and strays and to neuter stray dogs and cats to prevent the birth of more animals onto the streets".

Detailing the origins of the charity's name, a statement revealed: "Miracle was rescued from the streets of Borneo at one week old before her tiny eyes were even open. She was found with her siblings in a very remote area, where they were likely abandoned and were very unwell.

"The puppies were full of maggots, with ringworm and blood parasites. Unfortunately, Miracle's siblings did not make it.

"Miracle was cared for and she had a very long road of recovery ahead of her. She had several injuries and was very weak but she made a miraculous recovery and is now strong, happy and healthy living with her adopted sisters Star and Tess, who were also rescued from Borneo. Her aim is to aid in saving many more animals in need around the world.

"Miracle is the namesake of our charity, and her story is similar to many others around the world. However, not all of these animals end up being as lucky as she was and finding a loving home where she is spoilt rotten!".
