A "breathtaking" woodland in the UK has been dubbed a "tropical paradise." The area, tucked away in Devon, features "exotic" river and hiking trails, and waterfalls.
Lydford Gorge, in Devon, has has earned the title of "hidden gem" from reviewers who have praised its "lovely" views and "beautiful scenery." While locals may be well aware of its charm, those living further afield may find Lydford Gorge an idyllic retreat from day-to-day life.
TikTok travelling account @adventureamore1 shared a clip showcasing their recent walk through the area. Text over the clip read: "You won't believe this tropical paradise exists in the UK.
"This 1.5 mile jungle hike takes you on the most breathtaking walk in England through the deepest gorge in the south west. A tropical adventure that takes you along to waterfalls and exotic river trails. Located in Devon, this is Lydford Gorge."

The clip proved popular, amassing 35.2k views and over 1,000 likes, sparking a range of comments from eager viewers. One person said: "Lydford Gorge is amazing, I did that walk."

A different peron said: "Absolutely beautiful", and one wrote: "Truly is paradise." Another added: "We went there two years ago, it was amazing."
TripAdvisor users have also been singing the praises of Lydford Gorge, which has garnered a 4.7-star rating. Among the feedback, one reviewer said: "A hidden gem. What a wonderful walk around a maintained route. So peaceful and clean with the clearest water running down the river I have seen for a long while. A credit to the national Trust. Both dogs loved the walk but they do need to be kept on the lead."
A second wrote: "What a beautiful place. Smashing walk through a gorge surrounded by woodland. I would suggest this is a hidden gem. Plenty for kids to look at along the way." A third added: "Beautiful scenery. Wonderful views on a fantastic walk! We took the kids on a whim (we had a free voucher) and it was brilliant. Lovely waterfalls on a mini adventure. Not for those with mobility issues."
