In the explainer video, Jo said you need to begin with a light yarn and a crochet hook. From here you can start making your chain, which she shows how to do in her explainer videos.

After all the hard work, you should be left with a super cosy homemade blanket that's perfect for the winter months. It works as a gorgeous gift or addition to a crib for your little one.

The video has been viewed thousands of times since it was shared, and people seem keen to give the needlework technique a whirl. After all, there's something very satisfying in making things for other people.

One person said: "Yes. That is my favourite stitch for a baby blanket." Another asked an important question, writing: "Can someone tell me what the SC and stuff mean, because I'm trying to learn, and I'm so confused."

Jo soon cleared this up for her, replying: "Yes, absolutely. SC = single crochet and DC = double crochet. The pattern on my site includes all the abbreviations and more."

Someone else commented: "Just came across this. Going to make it for my 2nd grandchild due in Feb. They are not finding out the gender in advance, so making it in white. Thank you for the pattern!"
