Jimmy Tarbuck, 80, shot to fame in the 1960s as the comic host of Sunday Night at the London Palladium. He returns to screens this evening in Channel 5's Jimmy Tarbuck: The Laughs Are On Me.
After starting his career, the comic-turned actor went on to become a household name in the 1970s and 1980s hosting a number of game and quiz shows on ITV.
Tarbuck also appeared on the TV series Tarbuck and All That!, Blankety Blank, After Ten with Tarbuck, and more.
According to CelebrityNetWorth.com the TV host is worth around $5 million (£3.66 million).
Born in Wavertree, Liverpool, in 1940, he rubbed shoulders with stars from a young age having attended Dovedale Primary School alongside John Lennon.
He did not make his own entry into the media, however, until 1963 when he was introduced at the London Palladium on 27 October 1963 by Bruce Forsyth.
He then landed his own first television show in 1964 called It's Tarbuck '65! on ITV.
Tarbuck went on to be the last original host of Sunday Night at the London Palladium from 1965 until 1967.
The funnyman has also been the leading presenter of a number of quiz and game shows including Winner Takes All, Full Swing, and Tarby's Frame Game.

Tarbuck tried his hand at dancing in 2006, appearing on BBC1's Strictly Come Dancing.
Sadly, he was later forced to pull out for medical reasons.
In 2021 he appeared on Piers Morgan's Life Story's.
More recently, in 2015, Tarbuck joined forces with Des O'Connor during a one-off show at the London Palladium to raise money for the Royal Variety Charity.
His acting credits were accumulated from a performance in a 1993 episode of police comedy The Detectives.
Tarbuck also made a Comedy Playhouse pilot for the BBC in 1967 but the series was not commissioned.
The comedian has also tried his hand at singing, releasing three albums and a number of singles.
In 1959 the TV star married his wife Pauline.
The couple went on to have three children, including television and radio presenter Liza Tarbuck.
Tarbuck and his wife currently live in Kingston upon Thames, where he is said to enjoy golfing in his spare time.
Often nicknamed "Tarby", the TV host is a prolific Conservative party supporter.
In February, he revealed he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
