Those Christmas hangovers well past New Year so make sure you avoid them with our top tips
The festive season has begun and it won't be long until those Christmas and New Year party invites start coming round.
If you're dreading the mornings after, just follow our top tips and avoid that horrid hungover feeling.
1. Stock up on the Berocca
When you get home after a night out, make yourself a cocktail of Alka-Seltzer, Dioralyte and Berocca.
Mix all three in the same large glass of water and drink immediately.
Not only will this help calm your stomach but it will help stop dehydration and will give you a vitamin boost.
Repeat this drink when you wake up the next day.
2. Make sure you're getting enough H20
Before you even step out of the house make sure you are fully hydrated.
It is recommended that we drink eight glasses of H20 a day.
When you are out alternate alcoholic drinks with still or sparkling water and top up before you hit the sack.
Drinking fluids is key to getting back to your normal self after a night out
3. Grab a cup of coffee
While drinking excessive amounts of coffee or caffeinated energy drinks won’t do much to improve your sorry state, a single caffeinated beverage can help.
It's espeically useful if you didn’t get enough sleep as it gives your body an energy boost and improves mental alertness.
Try black tea or one cup of good quality coffee and make sure you drink plenty of water too.
4. Try a gin martini
For mild hangovers and bad cases of 'the slows' (like when you walk into a room and can't remember why you wanted to go in there), a gin martini is best.
It helps you forget you have a mild hangover and perks you up instantly.
5. Hair of the dog
Some people swear by this controversial method.
Try drinking half a shandy - the bubbles in the lemonade and lager can help ease a dodgy stomach.
