Celeb mums Myleene, Alesha and Mel C donate old baby clothes to charity auction
BRITISH babies have a chance to wear A-list fashion thanks to a British Heart Foundation charity auction filled with celeb cast-offs from Myleene, Abbey Clancy, Angela Griffin and Stacey Solomon
Celebrity mums including Alesha Dixon, Myleene Klass and Sinitta have donated their old baby clothes for a charity auction.
The 10 day auction at bhf.org.uk/ebay is being held in aid of the British Heart Foundation (BHF). It starts tonight at 9pm and finishes on Sunday, June 1 at 9pm.
It's being held to raise funds for research into inherited heart conditions which run in families and can affect the young and fit.
Hundreds of thousands of people in the UK have a congenital heart condition and many don't even know they have heart trouble.
Famous mothers such as Stacey Soloman, Mel C, Konnie Huq, Angela Griffin, Abbey Clancy and Angellica Bell donated their children's clothes to the auction.
David Walliams contributed two signed children's books.
Alesha Dixon, who has a six-month-old daughter, said it was "amazing" to think Azura's cast-offs might help fund "life-saving research into inherited heart conditions and called on other mums to donate their old clothes to the BHF's auction.
"It must be a terrifying experience for any family when their child is suffering from this type of condition," added the Britain's Got Talent judge.
Diane Locke, BHF deputy retail eirector, said: “Every penny of profit raised from these donations will support pioneering BHF research to fight heart disease. This could mean making major breakthroughs in the diagnosis and treatment of inherited heart conditions.
“To view and bid on any of the celebrity donations visit bhf.org.uk/ebay and help the BHF fight inherited heart conditions.”
Sinitta, who's godmother to Simon Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman’s son, Eric held a lunch for the charity.
Donations include a cream Marie Chatal velour babygro with gold angel wings, donated by Stacey Soloman.
Angela Griffin added a Catimini outfit for a three-month-old and David Walliams threw in a signed Demon Dentist hardback book with a signed black and white photo.
The BHF eBay auction goes live on Thursday 22nd May at 9pm and lasts for 10 days. To view the items and place a bid, visit bhf.org.uk/ebay. You can also text FIGHT to 85080 and give £3 to join the fight against inherited heart conditions.
