Don't forget to tell your surgeon what supplements you're taking before surgery
MANY patients forget that before undergoing cosmetic surgery (or any surgery) they should tell their surgeon if they are taking any medication, including vitamins and herbal supplements.
Patients can be put at risk by many of these supplements and should stop taking them two weeks before their procedure.
Bilberry, bromelain, fish oil, flaxseed oil, garlic and vitamin E are linked to an increased risk of bleeding while echinacea, ginkgo, ginseng and St John’s wort also have potential harmful effects.
