Brits enjoying the sunshine are being offered advice to remove irritating discomfort caused by thigh chafing.

The skincare team at Sphagnum De-Lux.com have sent over seven quick-fix solutions to eliminate the discomfort caused by thigh chafing.

Otherwise known as 'chub rub', thigh chafing is a common irritation over the summer as long walks and busy days out can result in soreness between the inner thighs.

Ice packs and baby powder can help provide instant relief, whilst moisturising at night can help reduce the inflammation for the day after.

Other hacks include petroleum jelly and even cucumber slices to reduce the burning sensation.

Lisa Kavanagh, skincare expert at Sphagnum De-Lux, said: "Thigh chafing is one of the most irritating and uncomfortable skin issues in summer.

"As people spend more time outdoors and engaging in outdoor activities such as long walks and running, it’s likely that many will experience thigh chafing which can result in sore redness.

"To make the effects of thigh chafing less painful, we recommend using items such as baby powder, coconut oil and cucumber slices which will reduce the soreness." Here are seven ways to relieve the discomfort of thigh chafing...

1. Baby powder

Sprinkle baby powder on the upper highs to help reduce friction and soothe the irritated skin.

2. Ice packs

The irritation can be instantly relieved by placing an ice pack on the sore area. Wrap an ice pack with a small towel and firmly press it on the affected area.

3. Cucumber slices

The unusual hack can help provide an instant cooling effect to relieve the soreness. It will also hydrate the skin to make the irritation less painful.

4. Petroleum Jelly

Petroleum jelly will work as a smooth lubricant to make the effects of thigh chafing less painful. It will also lock in the moisture to help keep the skin hydrated.

5. Coconut oil

Like petroleum jelly, coconut oil will act as a lubricant to reduce the painful soreness. Coconut oil also contains lauric acid, which has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties to help soothe and heal chafed skin.

6. Cotton pads

Cotton pads can act as a soft contrast to the sore irritation caused by thigh chafing. They’ll help to absorb sweat and minimise

7. Aloe vera

Aloe vera has natural anti-inflammatory properties to reduce the redness and swelling. It’ll also instantly cool the area if it’s become inflamed due to thigh chafing.
