Thousands of people who battled Covid infection might still be left without their key senses.
According to the Office for National Statistics, loss of smell is one of the most common symptoms of long Covid, affecting around 37 percent of Brits living with persisting coronavirus symptoms.
Loss of smell and taste have been recognised as two common expressions of COVID-19 infection that can linger for weeks or even months.
Fortunately, research, suggests that one potent supplement could restore your sense of smell in as little as minutes.
Looking at two men with persisting coronavirus symptoms, the research team noticed a speedy restoration of taste and smell after taking just one 1000-milligram (mg) dose.
Better known as a fragrant ingredient in curries and golden milk, turmeric offers some impressive anti-inflammatory benefits.
What’s more, the supplement form of the popular spice could be a miracle cure for loss of smell and taste dealt by Covid.
The study reports a case of a 25-year-old man who managed to shed most of his Covid symptoms in five days apart from the hampered sense of smell and taste.
The man explained he had no taste or smell whatsoever, following his infection.

The problem persisted for 46 days, prompting him to try a series of different medications without any luck.
But on day 46, he took a supplement pill containing 1000 mg of turmeric extract and 10 mg of black pepper extract.
Miraculously, he experienced complete restoration of smell and taste just ten minutes after taking the pill.
The case report also describes another man, 28, who managed to partially restore his senses twelve hours after taking his first turmeric supplement.
Three days later after following treatment containing 1000 mg of turmeric extract, 1000 mg of Boswellia serrata plant extract, and 15 mg of black pepper extract, he experienced a complete restoration of both of his smell and taste.
What’s more, the research team reported that the risk of one dose of turmeric is low in healthy individuals, while the potential benefit of regaining senses of taste and smell is high.
However, they added that more studies are currently needed to determine whether treatment with turmeric is helpful across a broader population.
In a previous interview with Express.co.uk, Mays Al-Ali, a nutritionist from Healthy Mays, shared that turmeric lattes could also ease Covid symptoms like fatigue and muscle aches.
