The days are getting shorter, but that doesn't mean you should be banished from garden entirely. Instead, it's a good opportunity to invest in some lights, to brighten things up after dark.

Luckily, Amazon has come through with the perfect deal this Prime Day. Vanranger's Solar Security Lights for £19.99 are a very effective way to shine a bit of light in your garden, for either ambiance or security purposes - and customers seem to love it, as it's a number one bestseller in the outdoor wall lights category on Amazon.

Featuring solar panels for daytime charging, these outdoor lights will illuminate every inch of your garden without costing anything to run. They feature three modes which activate automatically as it gets dark, with one leaving them on through the night, and two either switching on or raising the brightness when the lights detect motion. They have a 270-degree and 35 square metre range, with 238 LEDs per unit ensuring maximum brightness.

Ideal for gardens, porches, driveways, garages, stairways, and anywhere else you might need a night light, these wall-mounted solar security lights are also water, cold, a heatproof for year-round activity. The waterproofing meets IP65 standards, meaning they’ll withstand just about any storm hitting the UK through the winter months. If you don’t need the full four-pack, single and double packs are also available at reduced cost.

With an average user score of 4.4 stars from 700 Amazon reviews, these lights have proven themselves a great pick. One customer said: “I (was) sceptical when I ordered these but so glad I did. I placed them all in the garden as had no lights out there, and they illuminate it very well.” They added that they’re “small but give so much light”.

Another was pleased that they’re “easy to fit to fence posts or sheds”. Meanwhile, another happy customer said: “So good I bought a second set.”

Some have been less happy with their purchase. One shopper noted that they "could be brighter as for amount of LEDs it has", while another said: "The light output isn’t as much as my better lamps but they were quite a lot more expensive."

For £29.99, you might instead opt for an Eco Wedge Pro Solar Security Light from SolarCentre, although these are single packs. Alternatively, for a fancier option, Lighting Direct have these very fetching Lutec Curtis Solar LED wall lights at £53.99 each.
