Paint a garden fence in 10 minutes with just one item - no brush or sprayer needed
Painting a fence is a time-consuming hack that no one wants to do, but there is a simple way to speed up the process to get the job done in just 10 minutes.
Painting a garden fence is usually a boring task that takes most of the afternoon, but there is an easier way to do it which will half the time of this chore.
It may seem obvious to use a brush to paint a fence but this can be tedious while a sprayer can be complicated and not to mention very expensive.
However, Clare Hoops, a DIY enthusiast from Yorkshire, has shared that using a sponge is much more effective as it can hold more paint and cover a larger area with each stroke.
In a video online, Claire said: “Whoever told me about this hack I could kiss them. You don’t need a paintbrush to paint a fence, you can use a sponge instead."
She then demonstrated this simple hack by painting a large part of a black fence in minutes, showing that using a sponge is much faster than using a brush.
Clare said: “It is so much quicker and like hardly any mess at all. I did a whole patch in about 10 minutes!”
All you need is a packet of cheap sponges and then dab or wipe the paint onto the fence, which will be much easier to handle than a brush.
Not only is this method effortless but the sponge will drip less, meaning there is less chance of paint getting on the grass or any beloved plants.
Make sure to try this method on a clear and sunny day as the paint will not be able to dry and could be a lot messier if it is rainy or windy.
