Our expert thinks pink for summer with refreshing bottles of rosé
A cool glass of pink is perfect for drinking on warm summer days. We Brits are quaffing more rosé, though not as much as the French who drink more of it than white wine. This week’s selection includes a variety of styles, ranging from the fashionably pale rosés of Provence through to deeper coloured, more intense wines of Bordeaux.
Miraval Côtes de Provence 2016, France £16, Sainsbury’s, 13% alcohol
Beautifully packaged, this rosé is pale in colour and very textural, with smooth pear and honeydew-melon flavours, together with a hint of glacé cherry and a touch of citrus brightness on the finish. It’s so sophisticated and tastes divine.
Torres Viña Sol Rosé 2016, Spain £6.98, Asda, 13% alcohol
