'I tried Tesco's new award-winning wine and couldn't believe the price'

Whether you're a wine beginner or a seasoned expert, you can't deny that enjoying a glass after a long day at work is the perfect way to wind down.

It's also great for when you're celebrating or out on the town, making it the ideal all-rounder beverage.

But with so many different options out there, it can be really difficult to know what wines are actually good and which ones you'll end up liking the most.

And there's one brand in particular that has long been receiving glowing reviews, and even has some awards under its belt - and even better, you can now buy them in Tesco.

Andrew Peace wines, hailing from Victoria, Australia, certainly have a lot of hype surrounding them - but how would they hold up in a taste test?

These two wines - a Chardonnay and a Shiraz - are currently priced at £6.50 each in Tesco, which right away sounded extremely reasonable.

So I decided to give them both a try, beginning with the Andrew Peace Masterpeace Chardonnay one Friday after a particularly busy day.

Being honest, I'd never usually choose a Chardonnay, with my white wine preference usually being a Pinot Grigio. But immediately I was impressed by the bottle, which has a luxe-looking label emblazoned with the Andrew Peace logo in gold tones.

And even with the first sip, I knew that this was a good one.

Unlike a lot of white wines I'd tried, it didn't taste acidic at all - instead, I was met with citrus tastes and even a hint of tropical fruits, the flavours of which were very light and enjoyable.

It went down so smoothly and didn't leave that unpleasant aftertaste that a lot of other white wines have.

Even though it was a slightly chilly autumn evening, I was immediately transported to warmer sunnier days, and only wished that I could be enjoying it out in the warmth in a glass full of ice.

Moving on to the Masterpeace Shiraz, the one I was most excited for, being a huge fan of a red wine.

Although red is is typically served at room temperature, this one is recommended served chilled, so I popped the bottle in the fridge for a couple of hours before getting stuck in.

And this one was also hugely impressive - maybe even more so than the Chardonnay.

Each sip gives you a burst of rich smoky flavour intertwined with cherry and blackberry.

Very smooth and full-bodied, this would be perfect for accompanying a cheeseboard if you're entertaining and really want to impress your visitors.

It was also slightly dry, making it an absolute joy to drink, and the rich notes made it feel much more luxurious and expensive than £6.50 per bottle.

Both of these wines are vegan-friendly, making them perfect for anyone who avoids animal products in their diet too.

And at such a good price, you really can't go wrong - they are the ideal options for entertaining, or when you just want to indulge after a busy week.

I'd definitely buy these, as in my opinion, they're two of the best wines I've tried, and the low price just makes them even better.
