A new "Corona Cocktail" has received mixed reactions after one person claimed it was the perfect summer drink.

The neon orange beverage was posted to X (formerly Twitter) where it was described as "class" by amateur mixologist Andrew and quickly garnered plenty of attention. The drink combines the liquor Disaronno with a half-empty bottle of Corona before a lime is added to the mix.

Andrew wrote: "Trying the new 'corona cocktail' craze and my god these are class. Tequila sunrise and Dr Pepper beers." But not everyone was convinced by the mixture.

One user wrote: "That is not a colour of something I should be drinking." Meanwhile other social media fans were concerned over how bad the hangover would be after drinking the concoction. One even joked they got "a hangover just looking at the pictures."

The mixologist joked in response: "The perfect combination of not looking like an alcoholic by combining 2 drinks at once rather than having 2 glasses at all times."

He later revealed the rough measurements of the Disaronno and Corona cocktail when asked how much beer to leave in the bottle.

Andrew admitted: "We drank just the stem of the bottle mate and put probably 50-70ml of diss in, then thumb seal the bottle and turn the bottle upside down slowly and back upright, done."

Andrew then gave instructions for a second summer drink, writing: "Corona a double tequila a splash of orange juice a splash of grenadine." Another user has already started experimenting with the beverage. They said: "Corona, grenadine, tequila (chill tropical one) and rubicon! Incredible."

The drinks are thought to taste like Dr Pepper and he insisted they were "so good". He continued: "Mate the Dr Pepper one is insane fill the stem with amaretto / diss and turn the bottle upside down and back slowly so it mixes honestly it's so good."

TikTok user wildwildwestonn tried the mixture and claims it tasted just like the fizzy drink. It's good news for cocktail fans with plenty of recipes for makeshift tipples doing the rounds on social media – just be sure to enjoy any summer sipping responsibly.
