Tesla Model 3 inspired interior design coming to the Tesla Model S and Model X
TESLA is reportedly bringing one of the boldest design features from the Model 3 over to the Model S and Model X.
When Tesla first debuted the Model 3, there was one design feature that was divisive.
The revolutionary new minimalist interior was hailed by some as the future but condemned by others for apparent safety issues.
It was argued that you would have to look away from the road ahead to see the screen.
However, but based on Express.co.uk’s impressions of the interior, when we got a walkthrough of the vehicle at Goodwood, it doesn’t seem like something that would be too difficult to get used to.
Now, the carmaker is allegedly refreshing the Model S and Model X’s interior design incorporating the landscape screen and long air vent seen on the Model 3.
Not only would this move bring parity across the brand’s range but it will also likely slash interior manufacturing costs.
Exclusive photos featured on Electrek show design sketches for the expected refresh showing an all-new steering wheel, centre console.
It features a version of the air vent seen and landscape screen as seen on the Model 3.
These design changes will also set the cars up for when autonomous driving is possible and traditional features of a car’s interior will be redundant.
The design of the Model S/X’s interior has remained largely unchanged since the car launched.
If the reports are correct and the interior design is being refreshed it could spark a new batch of sales.
