A UK freight company, which has been in operation for almost 24 years, has plunged into administration in May. Instant Despatch Services Limited, a company run by Loop Logistics, appointed administrators on May 6, according to a statement in the London Gazette.

The notice was first published in the Gazette in the early hours of May 13, with Glyn Mummery appointed as administrator. The freight business, operating out of Mansard Close, Westgate Industrial Estate, Northampton, was first incorporated back in July 2002. It is unknown how the news could affect staff or if it will lead to job cuts at this stage.

According to their website, Loop Logistics refers to the owner of the website whose registered office is Instant Despatch Services Limited. The business offers a range of general haulage and logistics services, including domestic and international transport.

The company claims to have an “extensive, high-quality haulage fleet”, including a range of vehicles from sprinter vans to 26-tonne rigid vehicles. The business also says it offers same day and next day service, boasting of a reliable, 24/7 service operation.

Loop Logistics said all of their vehicles are GPS tracked with timed delivery slots. The company also offers storage, with 60,000 sq ft of warehousing available for customers to take advantage of. The business also says it offers everything from supply chain design and planning to boxing, crating and packaging services.

Loop said: “Say goodbye to logistical headaches, and hello to an experienced, capable and flexible team. Talk to us about outsourcing your end to end logistics requirements. We’ve grown our contract services and reputation by consistently delivering on our promises.”

It’s not the only haulage firm to fall into difficulty this spring with a series of freight companies falling into difficulty in recent weeks. MJ Haulage Limited, a transport company located in Devon, dropped into administration back on May 5.

It comes after Nottingham-based Martyn Barratt Transport Limited entered administration in April after almost 26 years in business.

A difficult period for haulage didn’t stop there, with news that North West based firm John K Philips Group Limited entered administration back on April 20, 2026.

Meanwhile, administrators overseeing Preston-based firm H. Parkinson Haulage Limited, posted a Notice of Intended Dividends almost two years after the company first fell into trouble back in August 2024.
