UK’s most popular car has a hidden storage feature that helps keep the boot clean
As the Ford Puma returns to the top spot as the UK's best-selling car, a retailer has shared a hidden storage compartment to stop the boot from getting muddy.
The online vehicle retailer Car Keys has shared a number of interesting hidden features that are available on the UK’s best-selling model.
During 2023 more Britons bought a Ford Puma compact crossover compared to any other model, with 49,591 rolling off dealer forecourts.
However, despite their popularity, a spokesperson for Car Keys suggested that many new owners may not be aware of the hidden storage compartment, known as the Megabox, that can be found underneath the normal boot.
They explained: “Just to be clear, Megabox may sound like it, but this isn’t the Transformer form of the Ford Puma – modern technology sadly hasn’t quite made them a reality yet.
“It’s still pretty cool, however. It’s a hidden storage solution found underneath the boot that adds an extra 68 litres of capacity to the car when fitted with a mild-hybrid powertrain.”

Found on Ford Puma models that feature a mild-hybrid powertrain, the Megabox brings the maximum storage capacity of the car to 412 litres, making it one of the most spacious models in its class.
Car Keys also highlighted that the Megabox is also particularly useful for drivers wanting to store something dirty or wet without creating a mess in their vehicle.
This is because the compartment can easily be rinsed out by taking out a plug on the bottom of the plastic compartment.

Car Keys also noted that many Ford Pumas also have a feature that can take the stress and discomfort out of long-distance driving.
They continued: “Massaging seats are a rarity on cars beyond the luxury segments, but Ford’s Puma is one of a few at the more attainable end of the market to boast the impressive feature.
“Exclusive to more comfort-oriented Titanium models, these seats offer a relaxing massaging element from the lumbar section to bring a little more relaxation to the road. Perfect for minimising backache on longer journeys, or just bringing a little lift to your day while commuting to work.”
