New car deals - Here’s how to save £10,000 by buying a car this month using simple trick
MOTORISTS can stand to save thousands off the list price if a new vehicle by buying a new car this month.
On September 1st the new Worldwide harmonized Light vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) was introduced in the UK.
It is a new emissions standard that all new cars that are sold in Britain must adhere to.
Any car that does not meet this standard will no longer be allowed to be sold.
However, one caveat to this is that dealerships and manufacturers stocked up on a number of pre-registered vehicles over the summer months.
Pre-registered cars are vehicles purchased by dealer and registered so they are acknowledged as the first owner despite the car only covering a handful of miles.
The volume of pre-reg cars led to registrations of new cars jumping by 23 per cent in August, compared to the same time last year.
These cars are a great savings opportunity for motorists as they are being sold off at a cut price.
Independent car buying site carwow has listed its top September savers, with great prices of up to off the list price available in some cases.
Top of the September savers is the Audi R8 V10 Plus, which is currently available at an impressive £27,329 below the regular list price.
However, a Mercedes-Benz GLE may be more appealing, with £11,362 shaved off its on the road price this month.
Alex Rose, trading director at carwow, says: “Manufacturers and dealers have been racing to get new cars registered.
“All vehicles not compliant with new emissions testing standards needed to be registered before the start of this month.
“So with so much stock now available, expect savings and incentives to continue for a good few weeks to come.
“By working with major manufacturers and thousands of dealerships nationwide, carwow has a complete view of the car industry and is uniquely placed to guide drivers towards the best buys.”
