Andrew Papworth

Andrew Papworth is assistant editor at the Daily Express.

He is a highly experienced senior journalist of 20 years, starting as a trainee reporter on local newspapers straight after finishing his A-levels. He went on to become editor of several large weekly newspapers in the East of England and worked as head of news at the East Anglian Daily Times, a large regional daily. Before joining the Express, he was a senior sub-editor at The Daily Telegraph. 

Andrew edits the Express homepage, deciding the day’s biggest stories and what news should lead the website. He has a particular interest in politics and is an ardent believer in the press keeping the public well-informed, holding the powerful to account and standing up for those who cannot make their voices heard.
