NS&I has issued a statement after a string of customers were unable to access their accounts online.

There have been several reports over the past two days of people using Plusnet struggling to log in to access their Premium Bonds and other savings.

One customer said the service had "stopped" and they kept getting an error message while another person said they were "unable to login".

NS&I sent Express.co.uk this update today (July 17): "We are aware that some Plusnet customers have experienced difficulties accessing our website and app.

"After investigating the issue, we can confirm that both the NS&I website and app are functioning correctly. We recommend that customers who are with Plusnet and experiencing issues try using a different WiFi connection or mobile data to access our online services."

The group said previously in response to one of the customers: " It appears that something within how Plusnet provide your network is blocking our site.

"We have raised this internally, but early indications are that the issue is with Plusnet themselves. We'd advise you to raise the issue with them too."

Express.co.uk has also asked Plusnet for comment about the issue.

NS&I customers can manage their savings and investments online and over the phone.

You can register with the group to make it more easy to apply for new investments online or over the phone, as the provider will have your details on file.

Anyone who had opened an account with NS&I online or over the phone will already be registered.

Each £1 Bond goes into the monthly prize draw with an equal chance of being paired with a cash prize.

The monthly prize pot includes the two jackpot prizes for £1million and several other large cash prizes, for £100,000 and £50,000.

Lucky savers often choose to use their winnings to buy more Bonds, upping their chance of winning again.
