Britain feels the full force of Star Wars success
Britain’s economy received a £200million-plus boost from the latest instalment of the Star Wars saga, according to new accounts filed at Companies House.

Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens premiered in December and saw the return of Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill to the series, who made their debut in the original film in 1977.
They joined a new cast that included John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis and Max von Sydow.
It was filmed at Buckinghamshire’s Pinewood Studios between March 2013 and November 2015 and was shot in Britain thanks to the ready supply of skilled staff.
The number of people directly employed on the production peaked at 258.

The Force Awakens broke a string of records, including the biggest ever opening worldwide.

It has made a worldwide total of $2billion (£1.4billion) according to industry analysts Box Office Mojo.
The UK had its best single day at the box office and became the first film to reach £50million within a week.
More records are set to be broken next month when the movie is released on DVD and Blu-ray.
