minicabit and Heathrow launch new luxury transport service
minicabit, the online minicab comparison and booking service, has joined forces with Heathrow to launch chauffeurit, a luxury transport service for passengers.
minicabit chief executive Amer Hasan has teamed up with Heathrow airport to launch chauffeurit.com
Designed primarily for business and corporate travellers using the airport, the service will help them choose and book journeys in a range of vehicles throughout the UK, from Rolls Royces and stretch limos to zero emission models, on one platform.
minicabit’s chief executive Amer Hasan explained: “Until now, customers, businesses and chauffeur fleets UK-wide have missed out on the online innovations seen in the cab sector.”
As well as www.chauffeurit.com, there will be a white-labelled service on Heathrow’s website. The launch extends minicabit’s partnership with the Heathrow hub, which caters for 75 million travellers a year, increasing its connections to the regions. It is also part of the cab service’s expansion into other high growth sectors.
minicabit’s partnerships with other brands include Barclays’ Pingit mobile payment service, Blenheim Palace, self-storage firm The Big Yellow Group, Olympia exhibition centre, Portsmouth port and The O2 arena.

The service says bookings have doubled in the past 12 months. Last November it completed a £1.4 million fundraising round, led by Hambro Perks and Oakley Capital. It now has a target of £100 million annual turnover by 2020.
Heathrow is delighted to be working with minicabit to offer greater transport options for passengers travelling across the UK and beyond
Chris Annetts, commercial passenger services director for Heathrow, commented:
“Heathrow is delighted to be working with minicabit to offer greater transport options for passengers travelling across the UK and beyond.
"Offering a variety of premium vehicles means passengers can choose to indulge in a little bit of luxury and a comfortable journey from the minute they leave their front door until they arrive at their destination.”

How do multinational companies avoid tax?
Hasan, former head of apps and internet partnerships at Vodafone, added: “Whether you want to treat your team to a luxury people carrier or yourself to a limousine, chauffeurit.com is the latest example of how we intend to offer the widest choice of car options with innovative partners such as Heathrow.”
Founded in 2010, minicabit enables customers and businesses compare and book quotes of any distance on any device for trips up to 12 months ahead, taking a commission on prices set by the cab operator. The company’s 700-strong network of private operators covers over 40 UK cities on the UK mainland from Aberdeen to Dover.
Its business model presents the widest number of cab quotes from both the journey’s start and end destinations. Other innovations include its luggage selector feature, which calculates the most appropriate size of cab for customers to book based on their luggage requirements, including the possibility to enter popular household items.
