DEBENHAMS is hoping new in store concessions for firms like cakes chain Patisserie Valerie and food outlet Chi Kitchen will give shoppers a bigger appetite.

Quarterly store sales at the group, best known for fashions like the dress pictured, were flat in the 15 weeks to 13 June, although online sales were up 16.7 per cent.
It already gives space to third-party retailers such as Sports Direct and coffee chain Costa and said it is on track to fill over half of its one million sq ft of spare selling space by next April.
Chief executive Michael Sharp said: “Our customers remain cautious in their spending.”
