Pinewood Studios puts superhero skills into growth
PINEWOOD has announced a £30million fundraising and agreed new bank facilities of up to £135million as it seeks to double capacity at its studios in Buckinghamshire.
Pinewood is at full capacity on blockbusters including the Avengers
The company, whose stages have recently played host to feature films including Avengers: Age of Ultron and the latest James Bond and Star Wars movies, said its studios were operating at close to full capacity.
The proceeds of the share placing will part fund the first phase of its studios development framework - including new stages largely interchangeable for film, television and video games production.
Chief executive Ivan Dunleavy said: "This represents another significant step forward in the ongoing development of the company and implementation of the framework to the benefit of shareholders and the UK creative industries."
