House building company Persimmon has a solid year
STRONG demand from first–time buyers helped drive up annual sales by 23 per cent to £2.6billion at builder Persimmon.
Persimmon's annual sales rose
The number of houses sold rose 17 per cent to 13,509 in 2014 and average prices rose 5 per cent to £190,500.
Chief executive Jeff Fairburn said: "We are happy with the demand we are seeing on sites."
Low borrowing costs and changes in stamp duty would outweigh election uncertainty in 2015, he added.
