Former Co-operative Group boss takes charge of fashion retailer SuperGroup
Former Co-operative Group boss Euan Sutherland is to take charge of the company behind fashion label Superdry as its founder moves to a new role.
SuperGroup chief executive Julian Dunkerton, who started the firm on a market stall 30 years ago, is to become “founder and product and brand director”.
He said: “ Now is the right time to bring in a chief executive of Euan’s calibre.”

Sutherland quit as Co-op boss in March after 10 months in the job saying it was “ungovernable”. He oversaw a refinancing of the Co-op Bank and his departure triggered a dramatic overhaul of the mutual organisation.
Before joining the Co-op he was number two at B&Q owner Kingfisher and is a former chief executive of Superdrug owner AS Watson UK. He has been a non-execu tive director at SuperGroup for two years.
His salary will be £675,000 with an annual bonus of up to £1million and a three-year share plan of up to £2million.
