Circulation and revenue drops at The Daily Mail
DAILY Mail and General Trust was hit by falling revenues at the Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday.
In the six months to the end of March revenues at the titles fell 3 per cent to £278million, with print advertising down 4 per cent and circulation revenues down 3 per cent.
Newspapers now account for less than a third of the group’s total income which rose 2 per cent to £931million, driven by business information, events and websites. Pre-tax profits rose 16 per cent to £151million and net debts rose by £220million to £793million.
